Sunset Primary School
Building a new school for the West Linn community following the demolition of the West Linn Elementary School.
Sunset Primary School had its challenges yet the opening for the new school was met without delays. The original school was built in 1917 making the school 100 years old. With a lot of environmental
concerns and an ongoing battle with the public for those who didn’t want a new school built, the project definitely had its difficulties. The project began in Spring 2016 and was completed Summer of 2018. The project started by NWI excavating an open field and playground area for a new elementary school known as the “Sunset Primary School”. The underground utilities phase consisted of roughly 1000 feet of storm pipe and several CB’s and MH’s. A new fire line and water line was running on Oxford and Bittner Street supplying the public with new water tie ins. We began the demolition phase by removing cabinets and valuable items out of the school, followed by drywall and other trash items being cleared out. The final step is separating wood and concrete before its loaded out and disposed.
